The five Dhyani Buddhas (Tib.: sku Inga rgyal po); Vairocana, Aksobhya, Amitabha, Ratnasambhava and Amoghasiddhi are also known in Vajrayana Buddhism as the five Wisdom Tathagatas or five Jinas (Victors). They represent and embody the five qualities of a Buddha and our Buddha nature, which has existed since beginningless time.

The Buddha Vairocana (Tib. Nampar Nangdsä), also called «the one equal to the sun, the radiant one», is regarded as the embodiment of the universal law. He is associated with the centre and the element of space. He symbolizes the Dharmadhatu wisdom, the wisdom that pervades everything (against ignorance).
